Nice atmosphere and staff but the food was very average. The starters were very small - black pudding starter had one slice - chowder was small and fish was hard do find. Mains followed the same pattern. Monk fish dish was a minuscule piece monkfish on champ (i.e mashed potato) plus some peas - dry, no sauce - Not a lot for 18 pounds. We will not be going to the Herringbone, North Berwick again.

Warm friendly welcome, great service & atmosphere. We only popped in for cocktails but would happily go back for food. Fab place.

My son really enjoyed his haddock croquettes starter. However the duck breast mains we had were a disaster far to tough even with a steak knife and pearl barley was bland. My dad did enjoy his pork belly but had to wait for his carrot side dish. The meringue desert I had was brown dry slightly over cooked. They did take duck off the bill but overall a bit disappointing.

Excellent food. Attentive service. Strange complaint as it seems, ludicrously large portions!
