1A Campers LTD - Campervan Conversions

MY VAN WENT HERE TO HAVE JOBS REPAIRED FROM A PREVIOUS BAD EXPERIENCE ELSEWHERE, THE CHAT WAS GREAT BUT THE WORK WAS SHOCKING !! SILICON EVERYWHERE, WORKTOP SAWN THROUGH THE MIDDLE TO MAKE IT FIT, THEN BADLDY JOINED BY AN UGLY METAL STRIP !! HORRIBLE CHIPWOOD USED INSTEAD OF FURNITURE PLY (NOT AS AGREED) I NOW DISCOVER THIS UPDATED WEB PAGE HAS PHOTOS OF OUR VAN ADVERTISING JOBS THESE GUYS DIDN'T DO....SHOCKING, ESPECIALLY OPENING OUR NEW AWNING TO PHOTOGRAPH WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION!! PHOTOS ALSO SHOW OUR BUNK BEDS WHICH THEY WERE NOT INVOLVED WITH, AND THEN OUR SMALL SIDE WINDOW....NONE OF THESE JOBS WERE DONE HERE, AND WHAT WAS DONE WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM TO ADVERTISE.

Well where to start.. it was an experience to say the least. If you don't want to read the whole review, just look at the pictures and you can see the poor and disappointing finish of the van, they haven't used a Mitre tool and cut the corners very poorly and used a horrible wood filler. They have also used this horrible wood filler to try and cover pen marks on the wood, which has just made it look worse. They drilled holes in the bed for the table, then obviously realised it was in the wrong place, now there are just random holes in the van?!?! You can see the shocking state of the orange edgings aswell.... We were reluctant to go with 1a campers as it seemed they hadn't done many projects like this one, and it was a large financial commitment, but they sold themselves well, seemed competent and the main thing is they promised they would get it done in 1 month from getting materials. Completely understand delays due to brexit, ukraine etc but once they had all the materials there were many broken promises regarding when the van would be done. Communication was very poor. Turns out they hadnt done anything like this and I was constantly told they were "doing their best" and basically learning on the job. They asked for all the money upfront initially (over 16k) which rang alarm bells, not very professional, but then agreed we would pay for the materials upfront and then paid the rest as work was done. 4 months had passed, still not complete, then the day before we were supposed to pick it up, we got a call to say they had REVERSED THE VAN INTO THE GARAGE WALL AND SMASHED THE REAR DOOR. At which point we were absolutely exasperated and bitterly disappointed. We owed them 750 at this point and thought it fair that we were owed a price reduction for all the delays, broken promises, trips we have had to cancel etc. Anyway, it all got very sour at this point, we were screamed at and demanded to pay the money whilst our van was blocked in the garage and I didn't even check the condition of the van before just taking it away, just had to get it away from them asap. There are many other parts of this journey that were shocking and disappointing but this review is long enough already. Hope this makes you think twice before going to them for your dream conversion.

Great staff and well organized. Place is clean and with needed equipment.

Thanks for help. I needed just a space under the roof but thanks to Jan for a hand to cut and fit the timber.
