Stone Cottage Self Catering

This was our first stay at Stone Cottage and we were very impressed with the accommodation. On arrival we were met with the smell of fresh ground coffee, homemade bread, scones and apple slices, fresh orange juice, milk and butter. The cottage is to a high standard, lovely and clean, plenty of hot water, fresh towels & bedding with a very comfortable bed. There is a TV with freeview, DVD player, CD/Radio and a decent WiFi signal. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. The cottage is located on a quiet road on the outskirts of town (5 mins to town centre). Ideal for walks and cycling, Kirroughtree mountain bike centre is only a couple of miles away (lockable bike shed at the cottage). Most of the sites of interest in Galloway can easily be reached by car within half an hour which we found to be a great bonus. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Brendan & Rhona for a wonderful holiday.

Great accommodation, ideally situated close to the Galloway Forrest park and on the edge of Newtown Stewart where there is a reasonable selection of restaurants, if you want to eat out, as we did, or supermarkets if you really want to self cater. Facilities in the house are ideal for a comfortable break. Welcome with fresh coffee was welcomed by me while the cakes were welcomed by my wife! If ever revisiting the area will certainly consider staying again.
