My girlfriend and I had a wonderful day trip in Scotland. Even though I live here, I still managed to see places I hadn't been to before! The journey took us all the way up to Loch Ness stopping along the way at Glencoe and Fort William (always trying to find the local deer) taking in all the sights with plenty of opportunities for pictures. The weather got better the further we travelled. Our tour guide Karen was fantastic and very knowledgeable throughout, and a credit to the company filling us in about William Wallace, Rob Roy, and local Highland clans along the way! Loch Ness was beautiful and we had a lovely trip on one of the boats on the Loch, followed by one of the best macaroni and cheese we've had at one of the local restaurants, which was suggested by Jeff and it did not disappoint! Sadly we didn't see the real thing (Nessie) but still had the best time and picked up one of the plush Nessies at the gift shop We can't thank Jeff and the team enough for making this trip as amazing as it was, always relaxed and comfortable and would not hesitate to book with them again, can't recommend them highly enough!

I'd give them SIX stars if able! From the beginning of the planning process through the end of our tour, everything was handled with professionalism and consideration of all our wishes. Our tour included everything from the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh to the Highland Games in Dunoon. Our accommodations were very good with few exceptions and most included breakfast which got us off to a good start every day. We covered much of Scotland including many lesser known places and attractions like the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, and the Antonine Wall. We visited Orkney Island and got as far north as 59 degrees while visiting Skara Brae. We also toured the Isle of Skye, Isle of Mull and Iona. We visited many of the most beautiful castles and some ruins, along with many beautiful chapels and cathedrals. And of course, we stopped at several distilleries and pubs to sample some of Scotland's finest Whisky. We also took a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train which many will know as the Harry Potter Train. The absolute best part of our entire trip was our tour guide, Heather. Her bright smiling face every morning, her in-depth knowledge of the sites we visited and the history Scotland's Clans and of Great Britain's Lords, Earls, Kings and Queens made for a most educational experience. She would tell a story in the van on our way to a site that related to the place or history of where we were going, and would end the story just as we pulled into the parking lot. Perfect timing! The other great thing was our tour manager, coordinator Jeff. He managed to get every one of our requests fit into the tour, made reservations for dinners at locations that we choose. He even took time our of his day to meet us in person while we were in Edinburgh, just to say hello. A-Plus service! If you ever plan to visit Scotland, be sure to let Purple Heather Scottish Tours make it your best trip ever!

Just returned from Scotland for 2 weeks from the most fabulous trip ever! We were totally blessed to be under the care of Jeff from Purple Heather Scottish tours. There were 12 of us who were guided and cared for beyond measure! Jeff utilize a beautiful 16 passenger van with a ton of room and a wonderful driver Callum who navigated the narrow Scotland roads with expertise and both making extra stops and additional care for us throughout our trip! Jeff planned the most extraordinary agenda and bookings for us from hotels, to special events and restaurant bookings and suggestions. Landing in Inverness, making our way to the beautiful Isle of Skye for 2 days ....an absolute must on your agenda.....We enjoyed hiking and exploring beautiful sites including: Donan Castle, Lealt Falls, Kilt Rock, Quraing, Fairy pools, and Fairy Glen. We spent a majority of our trip in the highlands of Loch Lomand staying a a beautiful large manor home where Emily cooked the most amazing meals for us! We were able to experience the Highland Games, castles, golf, distillery tours, brewery tour, Lock Lomand Cruise, Bird of Prey, a night of Ceilidh dancing, skeet Shooting, and lunch at St. Andrews with photo on the Swilcan Bridge. Our final destination to Edinburgh. All of us became very close to Jeff during our time and it was truly difficult to say goodbye. His care and attentiveness to creating an agenda for us was exemplary! I would highly recommend Jeff and the Purple Heather Scottish Tours if you want the experience of a lifetime!!!! Thank you Jeff from the bottom of our hearts!

Holy Highland Cow! What a great experience we had with Purple Heather Scottish Tours. Hands down - this was the best day during our 4-night stay in Scotland. My husband originally just wanted to learn a little about William Wallace as he's a diehard "Braveheart" fan. But we got so much more. KEVIN was our tour guide for the day, and my three teens were really impressed with him which says A LOT! Kevin gave us so much in one day than we could've ever asked for. Again...we just wanted to learn a little history about Wm. Wallace and Robert the Bruce at Stirling Castle, but we also got to see & learn and about JK Rowling's inspirations, view of the countryside, feeding the Highland cows, an unforgettable visit to Loch Lubnaig and a spur of the moment visit to Rosslyn Chapel. Again,,,all in one day. The vehicle was comfortable and clean. Kevin constantly offered us water and snacks. My teenagers were constantly entertained with Kevin's anecdotes, and the husband was impressed with his day-long Braveheart tour plus all the extras we got. Would I do this tour again? You bet. Does my family want to adopt Kevin? You bet!
