What a lovely place to eat. We met friends and enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch late afternoon after a walk in the forest. The fish starter was really tasty and well presented - as were all the courses. We enjoyed the roast beef, the chicken and the haggis and black pudding stack and struggled to find room for the fantastic puddings - I can recommend the frangipani! The owner was very welcoming and friendly - I only wish we'd discovered the Cooshaw Kitchen before Definitely five

They provided the warmest welcome, a cosy atmosphere and brilliant food whilst we waited for an emergency car repair. We were invited to stay as long as we liked, next to the log fire on a cold winters day. We were treated to home made scones straight out of the oven, followed by an amazing home made lasagne. The owners were friendly, chatty and a joy to be with. The turned a stressful event into an amazing day. Fully recommended. 10 out of 10. Fantastic.
