The Crofthouse

We spent a week at the Crofthouse last Sept and having holidayed in the Western Isles for many years and found the Crofthouse to be one of the best cottages we have stayed in . It was clean , warm , comfortable, well equipped but most of all felt like a home ! Traditional with lots of character . I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage as a base for a holiday on Harris. Thanks you Jonny . Andrew , Rachel , Ed and Tattie!

Great place to use as a base to see the rest of the island. Lovely cottage, everything you need and our kids loved the freedom. Was perfect at night to put on the record player and listen to old songs with a glass of Harris Gin. Slight issue with the heating, but Jonny was great and had it sorted in minutes. Will be looking to book again.

Very well equipped with modern facilities and WiFi in a beautiful location with a deck overlooking the harbour and sea. Very good communication from the owner. Load up on supplies in Stornoway, otherwise a few shops in Tarbert, about 20 mins drive. Perfect location to explore Harris from a quiet peaceful location. Fishing, walking and beaches on your doorstep.

A very welcome break from just across the water on Skye but Harris always feels a home from home and The Crofthouse really helped with that. Great record and cd collection, lots of books, DVDs if you are into that all housed in a very open plan, cosy space. The bedrooms were very comfy and just a fantastic space to relax and unwind after a very busy year. Would highly recommend and The Bothy looks fantastic also after having a sneaky peak through the window. Jonny was a great host and communication was really good and we felt welcomed even before we had crossed the threshold. Thanks Scott, Nadia, Derry & Magnus
