Easy to find from the main road and only a 3 minute drive from Tarbert (sheep permitting). The croft feels incredibly isolated, due to the views of the sea loch on one side and the freshwater Loch to the other, yet also feels incredibly cosey and homely. This is in huge part to the outstanding hosts John and Marlene. Before you even step foot inside they will meet you with smiles so huge that even a facemask couldnt hide them. Every last detail has been loveingly thought of. The quality of the rooms is top shelf, much like the complementary dram of whisky provided on arrival. Everything spotlessly clean and this was the first accomodation ive ever stayed in where the shower gel provided has been better than our own. (Essence of Harris)
The breakfasts were the best of our whole holiday. Tastey, light, energy packing and unique. Mostly home made and an exciting part of the day. Far better than a default fried breakfast.
Our days exploring were helped by tips and suggestions by both hosts and without a doubt made Harris the highlight of our time exploring the Islands.
I cannot recommend Dunarain Guest House any more and would have given 6 stars if possible. A must stay for anyone visiting the Isle of Harris and we will definitely be back.
