Stayed at Mulag House on Harris. Harris could well be the most stunning place Ive ever been. The BnB is by Loch Seaforth and hopefully youll see an otter every morning by the shores of Mulag. Amanda the host is most eager to please and she did so with her pleasantness and her breakfast with homemade tattie scones and bread, and eggs from her hens. Its out in the sticks just like everywhere on Harris and a great place to stay. Thank you Amanda.

Mulag House is set in a beautiful location right on the shore of Loch Siophort. Amanda is a wonderful, very welcoming host and gave us a few recommendations of where to go. We stayed for 4 nights in the Red Room; the beds were very comfortable and the view across the loch was stunning. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and Amanda brought us fresh milk every day rather than milk cartons. We had a very early start for the ferry from Stornoway and she left us a breakfast tray with fruit and cereal at 5am.

Amanda was such a warm and welcoming host! She was very clear in her communication beforehand on how to find the B&B (don't trust the sat-nav!) and how to prepare for a Sunday on the Isles of Harris & Lewis when everything is closed. Upon arrival, she welcomed us with a bottle of bubbly (we were there on our honeymoon) and went through all the interesting sights on the island. The B&B is beautifully situated on a Loch which was so soothing. The room and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. Amanda even made us a very early breakfast when we had to leave for the early ferry back to the Isle of Skye! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back one day.

Mulag house was the perfect stay for our trip to Harris. Situated 20 minutes from the ferry at Tarbert, its central location makes it ideal for getting round the islands attractions. Our hosts Amanda and Paul went above and beyond the call of duty and deserve the title of super hosts. Amanda prepared a phenomenal breakfast each day and even provided an early breakfast at 6am when we had to leave early for a trip to St Kilda. Her knowledge of the island is fantastic and she provided us with a selection of things to see and places to eat during out stay. Mulag House is warm, comfortable and surrounded by some of the most breath-taking views anywhere in Scotland. I would highly recommend Mulag House to anyone planning a trip to Harris.
