I have been working as a Carer at Carberry for almost 6 months now. I can truly say that I have never worked in a better home. The care delivered to the residents by every single member of staff is of the highest and not just by carers it's all staff from management to domestics. Carberry is a wonderful welcoming home, and you instantly feel at ease as soon as you come through the doors. The residents and all staff are treated with the utmost of kindness. This is a home that exemplifies what care is really is and exactly how a Care or residential home should be. It's a shame that all care homes aren't like this. Carberry is a shining example and I am truly grateful to be a part of Carberry.

Carberry personel are absolutely brilliant people who go above and beyond to help the residents feel at ease and more importantly make them feel as though thay are part of the bigger family .... they have no problem assisting relatives and visitors in any aspects of the care home... my mum stayed at carberry for some months and at the beginning she did feel a wee bit uneasy and shy but soon after with the help of Alison and co. she felt part of the gang and ended up having a smile on her face which put the rest of the family in a happy frame of mind. She would engage in lots of activities and she loved the outdoor frequent trips .... The rooms were well maintained and had a family feel and the food was well presented and of high quality but my mum loved the "spam on a piece" culinary choice. I would have no hesitation of recommending Carberry to anyone who was thinking of a care home for a loved one, because when I think of how they cared for my mum it puts a smile on my face ...

My Great Aunt is disabled and wheel-chair bound with post Polio syndrome and early stage Lewy Body dementia. Carberry provides a homely and family atmosphere which continues to support her limited independence. The activities are varied, regular including outings to places of significant interest. My Great Aunt loves trips to the Living Memories Reminiscence Centre in Edinburgh and regular teas at the local hotel which is situated within a short walk from the care home. The staff at Carberry Residential Home are courteous, attentive and always willing to go that extra mile. Physical therapy, using arts and crafts, and mental stimulation, using music and talk, are high on the agenda with regular visits from a local musician, providing welcome live entertainment. Knowing that my Great Aunt receives such quality care means that we can rest assured knowing that she is happy also. I would mention staff who have been particularly supportive but it would mean listing ALL of them as they are all very special people, so I will just say thank you to them all.
