And in the Blue corner
I think the last reviewer was being very kind. There's nothing 5 star about Highland Grocers. This wants to be and could be a convenience store. It's true that they sell alcohol, tobacco, milk, bread, some groceries, have lottery, sweets, crisps and soft drinks. However this is the most poorly stocked and dirtiest shop I have ever visited. The shelves are mostly empty that you might think it was soon to close down but it always looks like this. If times are tough for this little independent store I would understand thinly stocked shelves but it's difficult to forgive not cleaning those gaps. The dirt and dust is thick everywhere. The old chap that owns it is rarely happy and smiling and I struggle to recommend anything about the place. When he's not working some of the family look after the shop and seem to show no interest either. There's a Co-op 100m away
