Many years since I have cycled and as an OAP I wondered if I was fit enough , the staff in the shop could not have been more helpful finding a suitable bike , I was tempted to ask for an electric bike but felt a real sense of achievement when I completed the road round the island , a great day out

Makes is a Millport institution, I hired my first bikes there over 40 years ago.. Back after a long break we hired two electric and two kids bikes and went around the island. My only constructive criticisms would be ; It's a little confusing at the door, little barriers were outside with some people queuing there, some wandering inside, staff in and out, where do we go. and it felt a little expensive at 60+ to go around the island, leisurely pace but we didn't even stop at Fintry since it was shut! Finally one of the kids bikes was really end of life, I've thrown away better, it got us around the island but it's ready for the bin.
