Ruined castle originally owned by the Sinclairs of Roslin. Its been burnt down and rebuilt many times over its life due to its strategic location between England and Scotland. Not much left of the castle to see.

Fascinating ruins of a 12th century castle and adjacent nunnery, destroyed by invading English forces in 1547, which can be found in a field surrounded by both older and new buildings of Cousland. If you're looking for a developed tourist destination, this certainly isn't it, but if you love history, then come explore. Don't mind the ponies that graze here.
