        We have stayed here seven times. It's like a second home to us. The cottages have everything you need especially in the kitchen. They are spotless and the owners Jenny and Vince make sure your visit is stress-free. The two cottages are located amongst a few privately owned properties in the beautiful Galloway Forest. It is within few minutes walk of Kirroughtree visitors centre where you can go mountain biking or just go on one of the numerous walks in the forest. It's nice not having to get in the car. On a cloudless evening, you can see the Milky Way which makes you feel so small. You will need to make sure you go out when the moon isn't there though as it's brightness can affect the clarity. We have managed to see it on six of the seven visits. It's also a great place as a base for exploring the Dumfries and Galloway area.
