Kilmartin Castle is even more lovely than the photos! The space has been thoughtfully decorated to maximize coziness and relaxation. Stef and Simon are warm hosts who have created the perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life. Their hand crafted (and often hand foraged) breakfasts were a delicious way to start off the days exploring the Argyll region. There was so much to do nearby with old cairns of stones and day hikes in old growth forests. We stayed for three days but could easily have spent over a week and not explored all the historical sites within a short driving distance of the castle. We were also thankful to spend some time with Simon while he showed us around the property and gave us insight into their renovation process. My partner and I went just before Christmas and we would love to visit again in the summer months to enjoy the wild pool or rent the whole castle with friends. Thank you Stef and Simon for the wonderful visit!

A true gem nestled in stunningly beautiful Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. It is the heart of the village of Killmartin. Our host welcomed us with warmth and a tour of the charming, meticulously restored treasure. Our snug lived up to its name, feeling like a soft warm blanket wrapped around you while your inside its walls. Home-ade shortbread, teas, and coffee in antique Blue Willow teacups was there for the taking. We excitedly wound our way up the stairs holding tight to the evergreen Garland wrapped handrail. A towering fresh Frazier fir Christmas tree greeting us in the gathering room as we warmed ourselves by the cozy fire. Crisp fresh linens and a comfy bed were a Godsend after our king flight. Our breakfasts were chef quality. The Ricotta and Grilled Strawberries over Sourdough, granola pots, and Salmon and scrambled eggs were a triumph!! Our hosts thought of everything to make our stay outstanding! 5 stars just isnt enough! Thank you for a true taste of Scotland.
