Visited melrose and popped into buy a steak pie and 'the melrose longboat' basically a cornish pasty and it was absolutely delicious! THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING! I don't understand the negative reviews of service. FOOD AND SERVICE GREAT, I will be back.

Spent the weekend in Melrose and saw this shop on Saturday, the presentation in the window looked lovely. We ended up buying a beef lasagne, scotch pie, bridie and cornish pastie. Everything had the same thing in common - a lack of meat. They look gorgeous until you open them. The lasagne was terrible, and I mean terrible, padded out with onion and tomato. The scotch pie had a very strange texture again probably down to as little meat as possible. The bridie was actually hilarious (see pic 1). The Cornish pastie (pic 2) was the pick of the bunch in flavour and content but no better than average. A real shame based on the view from the window. Wont be back.

Bought some local sausages from here. They tasted good, but found the service to be a little rough and sarcastic towards simple questions about their produce.
