        Liked it a pleasant, friendly pub in a small town called Melrose, which is in the Scottish Borders. Only had time for 1 drink, but a pint of Belhaven 80 shilling was a very nice way to end what had been a great day's walking. I must admit that I had not seen the 80 shilling before. A very drinkable and pleasant ale. A very enjoyable visit to an area of which I am very fond. As I am part Scottish and my roots go back to an even smaller town called Earlston, which is not far from Melrose. So it is always good to be in Scotland. Although it was a bit annoying to have just missed the annual local 7 a side rugby-union tournament. Maybe next year.

        Lovely staff, nothing too much trouble. One night only , breakfast perfect. Would highly recommend. Rooms: Everything you need. Very clean
