Driving through Edinburgh on Ferry Road heading from Leith to Fettes school around 11.20am today, and one of Ormistons lorries began tailgating the car. We were in traffic , it was busy and that section of road is littered with traffic lights. The driver pulled closer and closer until the whole of the rear windscreen and rear view mirror was filled with the sight of the front of the cab. The driver began flashing his lights and pressed the horn. It was ridiculous - there were cars immediately in front of me and more ahead, as well as crossings and lights. I pipped the hooter back and he dropped back. He then pulled up again, flashing lights and gesturing . He was trying to push us along which was pointless as it was very busy and there was no chance of making progress beyond us. The driver drove appallingly and was using his vehicle to try to bully his way through the traffic which is completely unacceptable. We had 2 young children in the car. The driver is a liability for his employer and he is not fit to be on the road - if he worked for me , he would be dismissed . I rang the office and complained and was told that all vehicles have cameras on them so they would be checked. The registration began either R08 or R80 and the next letters were something like RHO or ROH - I couldnt read it well as the lorry was so damned close. I look forward to hearing the outcome of any disciplinary hearing and what action has been taken.
