Reviewing for my wife - she always goes here as not only handy (at the bottom of our hill) but she likes the job that's done on her hair. She only uses Heather so can't comment on other staff, but she is always professional and friendly and the wife always leaves very happy.

I have been going to chapter one for three years. Ive had my balayage there 4 times and it was my favourite experience. I used to get my hair done by both Heather and by Cameron. Gave my hair a break during covid and went back to discuss lifting it to a dark brown for my wedding/ proposal. Natalie took over my booking and I explained that I needed my hair done for a particular date. I had wanted to keep as much length as possible as I grew my hair for my wedding and not change the colour drastically, but just change the tone to dark brown. My strand test was done in three stand tests and my stylist Stacey had told me that Id be contacted at the weekend but Id be able to book in for Thursday 1st of December so that Id be able to get my hair done on time. I then received a call on Saturday and when I called back, I was advised that Natalie wouldnt be in until Thursday to discuss my booking. This was leaving me in the lurch as I was in a position where I didnt know if Id be able to get my hair done before my boyfriend proposes and my appointment for Thursday wasnt confirmed. I did express that I didnt understand why I had to speak to Natalie in particular and requested a different stylist because I wasnt aware Natalie would be taking 4 days annual leave during my consultation and so that Id be able to get my hair done on time and book in for the 1st of December. The answer was no so I then cancelled my appointment as I didnt want to pay a deposit for this booking. Baring in mind, I thought Id be able to speak to Stacey as my original consultation was with Stacey. I called back today to see my strand test because I was still curious of the outcome. Natalie binned my strand test and then refused to take my booking. She blamed it on my strand test not taking when it was in actual fact because I had expressed see that I wanted a different stylist so that I could have my hair done on the 01.12.2022. She didnt show me my strand test at all- and it wasnt just one but three separate strand tests. When I explained I was upset at this and the time it has taken to get back to me, Natalie became very argumentative, arrogant and defensive. The other staff at the salon are lovely, just a bit shocked at Natalies demeanour. I dont think I was rude at requesting a different stylist as at the end of the day, I just wanted my hair done in time for my proposal/wedding and I wasnt aware Natalie would be taking 4 days annual leave during my consultation. I am allowed to express this as it is my experience and a once in a lifetime occasion. I also would like to apologise to Lesley Anne if I came across abrupt on Saturday at all, it wasnt my intention. I had just wanted verbal confirmation of my strand test and wanted to know if my booking for Thursday would be confirmed and I dont understand why Natalie was the only one allowed to speak to me about my booking,. Just saddened that such a nice salon is owned by such an unkind and arrogant person. Hope the feedback can be taken on without becoming defensive again. After ten years in business, if you cant be nice to customers, especially on occasions like their wedding, maybe its time to rethink being in business.
