Unhelpful staff, website said open and traveled a significant distance to reach the place to then be told they were closed quite abruptly

I am a regular at Coll Pottery - doing pottery and glass classes which I can highly recommend. My introduction to the craft centre was around Christmas-time in 2019, when I did a class with friends (great hilarity) to make decorations and 'Christmas gnomes'. I then progressed to longer sessions in both pottery and glass. Alan (pottery) and Stella (glass) are both excellent tutors who guide us through new techniques, helping us to produce surprisingly good pieces (well, I think so!). The pottery is a working centre, with son, Aidan, also making some stunning wrought iron pieces which he makes on commission. Alan's pottery and Stella's glass items are on sale in the shop. The onsite cafe has been closed during lockdown which was a shame as it was a great place to relax and have a catch-up with friends. Coll pottery is a short distance from Stornoway - easy to locate and worth the scenic drive to get there.
