I would like to thank Stuart and the friendly staff at the practice for doing a very professional job on my teeth. I highly recommend using this practice for any dental treatment you need done.

As a somewhat nervous patient, Stuart and his team put me at (relative) ease from the initial consultation right through to the final appointment. I was explained the different choices available and due to the detailed information provided, was able to make an informed choice. I had an implant, a crown and a separate crown on a neighbouring tooth to improve my gappy smile (after a previous extraction). The results have well surpassed my expectations, and feel it was well worth the money. I would highly recommend Stuart and his team.

I cannot speak highly enough about the care I received from stuart and staff at Loanhead Dental Practice. Stuart kept me informed every step of the way during my implant process, always explaining every step in detail, I felt confident I was getting the very best care, I would highly recommend anyone thinking about treatment to go there, the staff and Stuart are welcoming and very professional. A huge thank-you to Stuart and team for their first-class care and attention which I received for a recent single tooth implant. I was in expert hands and Stuart was reassuring and thoroughly explained every stage of the process. I can highly recommend LDP and wouldn't hesitate to have any future treatment carried out here.

A really terrible dental practice. Several members of the team are rude and don't give you the time of day unless you are a paying private patient. They seem to not care if you are an NHS patient who requires help and advice. I have had several bad experiences with numerous members of the team and have been astonished at their lack of compassion and empathy given their role as health care providers. I experienced a fairly traumatic event recently and explained this at my dental appointment as I was slightly anxious as to how I would react in the chair. I had my first ever panic attack during this appointment (with a dentist who is advertised as showing a particular interest and supposedly has a qualification in relieving dental anxiety). He did not stop during the procedure when I was trembling in the chair, crying or raising my hand for him to stop. Only when I pushed his hand away from my mouth did he stop. At which point, to help relax me he told me if I did not let him proceed promptly then the only other option would be for sedation and I would likely be on a waiting list for over a year to have done what I needed. I left the surgery extremely upset and shaken and had to compose myself in the car park before being able to drive myself home. Days following this event I needed to return to the practice as I was sure I had an abscess or infection in my tooth socket from the procedure. I had constant pain in my gum, a temperature and there was an awful taste and smell collecting on the gum tissue which was getting worse rather than improving. During this appointment my concerns were dismissed and ridiculed. I actually apologised to him at the beginning of this appointment for my uncharacteristic behaviour at my previous appointment the week before as I had never been upset or cried at a dental appointment in my life up until that point and explained how I thought it was likely linked to my traumatic experience the month before. To my horror he laughed in my face and didn't even remember the appointment or me getting upset. Something which had genuinely given me a fear or ever returning to the dentist had been made a mockery of by this extremely arrogant man. The same experience was had in the chair again this time and again he did not stop or pause or ask if I was OK and needed a minute to compose myself. He was rough and relentless and did absolutely nothing to help relieve my anxiety like they proudly advertise on their website. Finally, my most recent experience which was disheartening. This practice treated me during my pregnancy and has seen me twice since having my baby so it shouldn't have come as a shock when I asked to have my daughter registered with them as she now had her first teeth through. I was met with an extremely rude receptionist telling me they are not accepting any new patients. She then proceeded to tell me I would not find a dental surgery who would accept new patients at this time locally. After asking for advice as to what I should do regarding my daughter in case she needs some dental care she scoffed and told me good luck finding somewhere. After speaking with several other dental practices that day they were all horrified to hear how I had been treated at Loanhead Dental Practice and astonished to hear they would not register my daughter as a patient with them. Each of these practices were under the same restrictions and not taking on new NHS patients but said had one of their current patients been pregnant and had a baby they would automatically accept them as a newly registered patient. So it seems that this particular practice is just awful and not family friendly at all. I would NOT recommend them to anyone and advise you to avoid at all costs. That's if you can even get an appointment but that seems rather unlikely unless you are willing to pay them privately as the receptionist also informed me they will be turning fully private shortly so don't even waste your time on them.
