Pratis Barns

When we decided to get married we went to look at DIY wedding venues and as soon as we walked into Pratis Barns we knew it was the one (cheesy but true!). The venue itself has a lovely rustic barn which is used for ceremonies and then a larger indoor space for the reception. Nicola and Patrick were fantastic right the way through the planning, always making us feel that we could have the day exactly how we wanted it and they would help make it happen. On the wedding day itself Nicola made sure things ran smoothly and people were where they need to be and when they needed to be there. Its the little things that make all the difference, for example, asking if we wanted another 15 minutes in the sun with the guests since it was such a nice day and bringing us a tray with two of each canap to make sure that we got some in between photo duties! Nicola, Patrick and Pratis Barns were all amazing and we genuinely had the best day!

Excellent venue for a wedding We wanted a relaxed and beautiful setting for our wedding, Pratis Barns provides this space, the fairy lights create such a lovely ambiance as a beautiful back drop for creating your own unique day, with the DIY factor of designing the venue how you would like it. The wonder room of props is fabulous. All we needed were a few wee bits and the fresh flowers that we wanted. Nicola and Louise are fantastic with the planning, responding to and queries and they both bring such a relaxed presence to your day, making sure everyone is where they need to be and there is nothing for you to have to think about in that respect - they have it covered. The waiting staff were wonderful, cheerful and made sure they circulated all the guests inside and out when serving reception drinks and canapes. All of the catering provided by Patrick onsite, was outstandingly delicious, loads of our guests complimented the quality of food and high standard of catering. Some guests comments , 'felt spoilt all day', 'such an amazing venue' , 'this place is gorgeous' 'fantastic wedding from start to finish'. We would 100% recommend Pratis Barns to anyone.

In my opinion this is a good venue but a work in progress. Not quite the fully finished and polished final item but well on the way and has great potential. Very well run, helpful, friendly and approachable. The gorgeous views are astonishingly beautiful and the candlelit barn is picturesque. The exterior landscaping needs some planting and softening but I'm sure with that done the whole of Pratis Barns will have moved up a significant level.

Me and my husband got married at Pratis Barns in November 2022 and genuinely couldnt have asked for more for our wedding. We booked Pratis in 2019, it was the only venue we viewed and we immediately fell in love with the place. At the time, Pratis House was still under construction and much of the venue as it stands today was still in progress; but we trusted the vision of Nicola and Patrick and Im so glad we did! Pratis fitted my husbands only request of a barn with fairy lights, but so much of the DIY venue work was taken away by what is included in the price and of course, the incredible Wonder Room for decor. Other than photo frames and a handful of other items, we decorated the entire venue with items from the Wonder Room. Having Patrick as the on-site caterer was also incredible. I really feel Nicola and Patrick totally understood our relaxed vibe and that this is what we were striving for with our wedding. They were incredibly flexible in the weeks running up to the day when numbers were chopping and changing which helped reduce stress. Pratis House is the most amazing addition to this venue. We stayed the weekend with our bridal party and families, and it made everything even more special. The house itself is absolutely immaculate and beautifully finished, but its also functional. Considering every bed was filled including a 6-month old baby and my Dad who has mobility difficulties, no one was tripping over one another and the morning of the wedding was the chilled one I dreamed of. Our MUAs and hairdresser loved the glass box and its natural light for getting us all ready. We also got Patrick to cater our Friday evening meal which was a wonderful sample of what to look forward to on the Saturday! Our wedding was truly everything we dreamed of. Something you cant really practice until its too late is the functionality of a venue, and Pratis absolutely nails it. All the available spaces and the freedom to do what you choose with them is a huge part of what made the day so smooth and enjoyable. We had lots of kids at our wedding, and my friends were so grateful for the different areas we had available away from the main event to have a break, feed or put their babies down for a nap. I also really appreciated being able to easily find a quiet corner at different times! Nicola, Patrick, Callum and the team on the day were faultless. Everything went without a hitch and it was so nice to be able to thank Callum properly when he came out to serve our dessert table!! The food was extraordinarily good and our guests loved it. Little touches like our own plate of canaps once we came inside from photos were truly special. Our guests described our wedding as one of the most chill theyve ever been to, and we had many comments about how it truly fitted us as a couple. Its all I ever wanted as a bride! The photos speak for themselves about the aesthetic and beauty of this venue. But truly I cannot say enough thank yous to Nicola, Patrick and everyone at Pratis for making our wedding so very special. I cant recommend it strongly enough for any couples looking for their venue!
