"Everything was just perfect. The cottage is spacious, comfortable - especially the chair by the stove in the kitchen - and most conveniently and thoughtfully organised, with great attention to detail. There was nothing showy but everything was exactly what we needed and within easy reach. Good quality equipment and furnishing. We are thankful for the blinds that shut out the light at night. Faultlessly equipped and immaculately clean. A gem of a cottage and a particularly warm welcome." Tips: A trip to Noss with Shetland Seabirds Tours in July is a rare opportunity to see spectacular cliffs and bird cities. Another trip to Mousa from Sandwayre Pier where the seals were basking in the sun, to see more seals, more birds and the extraordinary broch. Hermaness Reserve was well worth a visit, it's an easy walk to the cliffs, the views are breathtaking and the smell and cries of the birds make it a memorable walk. Plenty to see in Unst if you're interested in the Viking heritage. The list could be neverending, but one last tip is a meal at the bar of the Scalloway Hotel, never had crab claws like those before, and the desserts are out of this world. 7th September 2017, guest from Montlucon: "Everything was just perfect. Just returned from an amazing week visiting the Shetlands. We stayed at Hansel cottage in Lerwick and the accommodation didn't disappoint. Everything we would have expected for holiday rental was there. Clean, well furnished to a high standard, even down to a welcome basket of local bread, eggs, butter and milk. The cottage is well located for the short walk into the center of Lerwick and well positioned for trips to the rest of the Island. Just added in making a great holiday.
