Old Gatehouse

Popped by for breakfast this morning. Was seated promptly by member of staff and order taken shortly afterwards. Asked for kids breakfast as dont eat much and they obliged. Also had toast and Latte. Food was extremely good and in this economic climate I would highly recommend. Overall Good service, friendly staff and good value for money. Had a barking dog for a little while and a noisy child but this is to be expected in a great dog/family friendly pub.

Ordered fish and chips. Massive portion and mostly tasted great. However - too much batter and less fish. My friend loved her steak and ale pie and the three kids we had with us were very happy with their food. Service was good - no issues at all. Kids like to play outside however we were put at the table in the opposite side of the restaurant. Surely it makes more sense to have people with kids close to the play area and groups of adults on the other side of the restaurant?

Staff are extremely helpful and very polite, always professional in their duties. The ambience is very good and dog friendly in certain areas.
