(Translated by Google) A popular tourist spot on the northernmost tip of the British mainland. There are also ferries to the Orkney Islands. Parking is free for ferry passengers. The toilet in the parking lot is paid, but it seems that the gate is often out of order. (Original)

Told I was disrespectful by not taking Scottish notes as change. I was just in the John OGroats Tourist Information and Gift shop at 10:20AM this morning. I bought a magnet and paid using a five pound note. The male shop assistant returned with my change saying Ill give you 2 in Scottish notes I (a woman) replied Can I actually please have 2 in coins (as I needed it to pay for parking in the car park) The male assistant looked affronted said Well no as thats disrespectful. Here are your coins in a aggressive demeaning manner. I was absolutely outraged but decided not to have an argument in the shop and walked out absolutely fuming. How on earth am I disrespectful asking for coins instead of Scottish notes? I, a woman, born and raised in Scotland, am being told I am disrespectful. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from an elder male shop assistant. And not the way I would want tourists to be treated in my home country. The young guy in the brewery however was lovely and example how to treat people arriving in this special place.
