1 star for location and view, another for the conservatory. It was quiet despite proximity to A9 and the views were spectacular. We were really disappointed with the standard of cleanliness at this cottage. While the basics were reasonably clean and the bedding and towels were good, the following was unacceptable: - Towel rails and non-sanitary surfaces in the bathrooms were revolting. Not cleaned in months. - We had to rewash plates and cups to use, they were sticky - There were cobwebs throughout and dusty surfaces - I presume there had been a dog (or 6) staying the previous week - there was lots of dog hair and sand throughout particularly in the livingroom - The tablemats were stuck together - The outside space was frankly dangerous. There was broken paving, sharp metal and a bucket of something possibly toxic in the back garden which was far from as advertised. Not a space we could sit in and no patio furniture. Really really poor, mucky and unhygienic. A deep clean was promised but had clearly not been done for months! Under no circumstances would I recommend this property to friends or family. I emailed the property owner who replied with a partial apology but failed to address the fact that the property was not as advertised and that the outdoor space was dangerous.

Lovely rural setting, everything you need for a relaxing break. Lots of lovely beach walks and little fishing villages. Dog friendly too which is great. Lovely views out of the conservatory. Clean and warm with a lovely log burner. Loved listening to the wind howling on a cosy evening. Nice local place to eat which is also dog friendly called the bay restaurant Dunbeath, we went there nearly every night, staff were absolutely amazing. We'll worth a visit if you want to get away from it all

WOW.. Loved it. Myself and my wife rattled around in this 3 bedroomed cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Views out of the front window over the Loch and landscape took over from any of thoughts of TV until the sun went down over the horizon with wonderful sunsets every night and each night different. Great base to explore this part of Scotland. Everything you need is available in this cottage. My only downside thought, if it is one, is that the WiFi signal was intermittent, not an issue so much for me but I know its importent to others but this is a remote cottage for a reason.. The scenery!.. and that's what sticks in my memory more than anything.
