School House Watten

Nice to stay in a place full of character. Memories of my younger days when you see the duck egg blue porcelain of the bathroom. Perfect place between Wick and Thirso. Surf was great. Shop next door and pub next to that. Perfect holiday sie. Nearby activities: Castles, outdoors, beaches and surf.

We stayed for one night of our expected three nights. Whilst the house was okay the kitchen and bathroom had not been cleaned at all. With a used razor and bar of soap in the bathroom. The owners attitude was disinterested at best. Airbnb did refund us fully and we managed to find alternative accommodation. Having said all that the rest of the house was interesting and the beds very comfortable. It's a shame about the cleaning and attitude to it.

Very old, large traditional stone built Scottish house. Perfect base to stay if visiting the area. Took us 5 hours to drive up from Perth. There were 4 of us plus our dog. The house offered loads of room for us to spread out. One bathroom and a handy second loo. Always loads of hot water. WIFI was excellent. Two of our family had surf lessons at Dunnet Beach, with North Coast Water Sports, which was a 20 minute drive away. Wick was about a 15 minute drive. Great wee village shop next door to the house, nice play park 2 minute walk across the road. Sadly we didn't get the chance to visit The Brown Trout.
