Clachog

Claqhog is a very beautiful house, finished to high standards however the cleanliness does not reflect it's tourist board 5 star allocation. We were welcomed to a very dirty house with mud stains and crumbs all over in the kitchen floor which looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. We also found hair in the ustensil drawer in the kitchen, and all the cutlery and cooking utensils were filthy and not properly washed. The baby high chair was also very dirty with old food residues stuck everywhere, we could not let our little girl sit on it. In the living room the carpet was also filled with crumbs,there was a lot of dust and dirt under the sofas, which again indicated that they those areas were never cleaned. On sofa had some very visible wine stains probably left by the last occupants. The banister had also come off the wall and was not repaired despite the owner being aware of it. The bathrooms were very quickly washed, the sinks were particularly not clean. The knobs were very greasy. We spent two hours cleaning the house before unpacking which really spoiled our holiday. The owner who was made aware of the state at which the property was rented to us was very unapologetic and showed no remorse. There was no offer to reimburse our first night or give us some money back for the unpleasant experience. Would I return to the Clachog? Certainly NOT...Not until the owner learns how to treat his customer and makes sure the cleanliness of his house reflected in the price. The place was too filthy!
