        I booked a taxi to meet me at the airport but nobody was there when I was ready to leave. I phoned the company who confirmed they had the booking and it would take '5 minutes' for the taxi to arrive. It took over 10 which means that they were still in Kirkwall and not on their way to me. The taxi driver made no effort to communicate, not even to apologise. He didn't believe this was for him to do as he was just sent on a job. I had been quoted 'about 10' but was charged precisely 12.50 - perhaps the extra was for surliness! Fortunately, everybody else in the Orkneys was pleasant and polite so it was unfortunate to be welcomed by Orkney Taxis. There are so many other taxi companies, I would advise to try them first. A list can be found inside the airport on the wall near the check-in. Service: Limousines
