A home from home!! This beautifully presented cottage was a superb base for our week discovering Orkney. Upon our arrival the owner was there to welcome us and introduce us to the cottage, there to hand over the keys and explain the heating. The home was clean and felt newly refurbished, obviously a place that has been well cared for! The cottage itself was warm, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen perfect. Everything you could need and more. It was only a short walk (15mins at a slow pace) into the centre of Kirkwall and the harbour making it ideal for those wanting to explore Orkney and go out the other islands. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!!

ThistleDoMe was the perfect base for our family holiday in the last week of august 2018. Well equipped, quiet location, close to all shops in Kirkwall an not more than 35 minutes to all the many things to see and do on Orkney Mainland. Thank you Helen for the warm welcome and the sponge!
