As a gin lover I booked a tour with my husband. We visited off-season mid-April, so it was only the two of us, but we did not get disappointed. The owner Stephen warmly welcomed us and took so much effort and time to show us around. It made our day. They sell a distinctive selection of gins, there is something for every taste. I liked that there is a story behind every gin and their names. My husband usually doesn't like gin and prefers whisky but he enjoyed the ones from Kirkjuvagr. Highly recommended!

Everything about this place is incredible, and I couldnt recommend it highly enough! The gin is some of the best weve ever tried, and the stories and inspirations behind each expression are unique, meaningful, and connect to the islands in a truly beautiful way. I would highly recommend trying the gin, but if you have a chance, take the tour as well. You wont be disappointed! This is a family-run operation, and it is a clear labour of love for them. My favourite part of the experience by far was hearing the stories of Kirkwall, and all of the first hand accounts of amazing traditions and personal family stories from all across Orkney. Youll also get an inside look at every step of the gin making process, and you get a very generous tasting session in the end as well! Thank you to Stephen for an incredible experience, and we look forward to our next chance to come see you again!

We visited the distillery and everything was very nice but somewhat lost on me as I dont particularly love the taste of alcohol, no matter how smooth. This review is for the incredible customer service and length that their Visitor Experience Manager, Lily, went to in order to send me one of their Vegvisir shirts (they dont usually ship to the US). Interacting with her was smooth and easy, she kept in touch the entire way, and even included a lovely sample of fudge - which we promptly devoured in one sitting even though we swore we were only going to eat half. Good companies retain good people, I think this sets quite the indication for where you can spend your time and hard earned money and feel good about it. Thank you Lily and Orkney Distillery!
