We loved our stay in highland park house. The location gives you a beautiful view over Kirkwall, the beds were really comfortable, so was our room. The owners were very friendly and helpfull with our questions about getting around in Orkney. And we loved the breakfast. Very tasty, lots of choices, fresh, lots of vegetarian options (even the sausages!) and a good start of the day.

This is an old house but comfortable rooms and hot water for washing. The breakfast is ordered the night before and for a set time. The choices are great with hot and cold options and as local as possible. Really enjoyed it, put on weight. Haggis, black pudding, bacon, poached eggs on toast, tomato, mushrooms etc. Parking is along the side of the entrance road which is a small road just before the distillery. The hotel is high up and gives views over Kirkwall.

Lovely room in this incredibly old building which used to be the head office of the distillery which is just below. The dining room is nice and cozy and the host is often ready with a humorous remark. The breakfast is superb and you order the day before on a small form. The host is also good with recommendations. Dejligt vrelse i denne utroligt gamle bygning som tidligere var hovedsde for destilleriet som ligger lige nedenfor. Spisesalen er pn og hyggelig og vrten er ofte klar med en humrfyldt bemrkning. Morgenmaden er superfin og man bestiller dagen fr p en lille blanket. Vrten er ogs god med anbefalinger.
