Having recently moved to Kirkcaldy, and being a little jaded by years of using various high street opticians, I am really pleased to have found Cliff and the team. I found them all to be very friendly and professional. The personal service was outstanding, nothing was rushed and everything was explained to me including being able to experience the difference my new prescription would make. The eye test was thorough and Cliff was very patient and informative as I selected the appropriate frames from a wide selection available. Thanks to all the high tech gadgetry Cliff possesses, when I collected my new Zeiss varifocal lenses they were absolutely perfect for me from the start. Needless to say I am absolutely delighted both with the service received any my new frames and lenses

I have been intermittently unsteady, off-balance and slightly dizzy for a long while now. Initially, it was medically diagnosed as a ear issue, then a neck issue, then a neck and ear issue but the waiting list to get an NHS specialist appointment for an opinion gets longer and longer and I wasnt holding out much, if any, hope. Meantime, whilst chiropractic, acupuncture and other therapies (all privately sourced and paid for) helped a lot, a desperate call to Cliff Williams, independent owner of The Spectacle Shop in Kirkcaldy provided the best solution so far - close work varifocals for devices and computer work. Using amazing videos, he demonstrated the effect of my distance varifocals on my neck and shoulders and the impact of this on my distressing balance issues. I have been a client at The Spectacle Shop, Kirkcaldy, for a number of years and have total faith in Cliff and his very experienced optometrists, so had no hesitation going ahead with the new close work varifocals that were prescribed. Admittedly, it is a bit of a pfaff changing from distance to close work spectacles and then back again but well worth the effort! My wife and I have been customers of Cliff's for the last nine years and have continually been impressed with the high quality of service provided. Cliff has the most up to date Zeiss equipment and always goes beyond the call of duty to ensure that our requirements are met. His wide range of glasses should suit any taste and are fairly priced, with options tailored to the customer's needs and budget. Had my eye test today, and I was very impressed with the service I received from Cliff and his assistants. They were very thorough and it was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend having the additional test, because Cliff explained what he had photographed. Very interesting. I would definitely recommend them
