As a business owner in the Olympia arcade we have experience of this mob behaviour thinking they can do what they like. We held a makers market in the privately owned arcade to try raise funds to help upgrade the venue and to help local makers show their wares only to be stopped by the council saying we need a licence. Fair enough. But when we then have the extension (and by that I mean we are forced to pay by the council) of the council (Kirkcaldy for all) drop past to let us know THEY want to hold a market in the arcade it really smacks you in the face that they are nothing more than greedy. They are now barred from the arcade and we will be petitioning to be taken out of the bid levy as Kirkcaldy for all are selfish and money wasting. Our money could be used to help businesses like lowering rates so businesses can survive but no its just another way of getting more money out of local business and screw it if they go under. Self serving and arrogant is what they are. Unfortunately the public only see one side of Kirkcaldy for all and not the forced to pay them other side many businesses disagree with. Not fit for purpose is an understatement. These guys have no purpose at all apart from take take take.

Kirkcaldy town centre has been brought to its knees and in my opinion the bid team have helped Members of the board are councillors who vote for the retail park expansion but don't think of their duties on the board and trying to fill the empty shops We have many charity shops and a huge problem with seagulls followed by a very aggressive approach to parking tickets Whilst the likes of dunfermline are thriving the big names are leaving and the bid team can't help ! Bid Levys are spent on ridiculous things like street furniture and sign posts when we should be trying to fill shops and concentrate on bringing people to shop in Kirkcaldy The parking situation is not clear a lack of signage is making people believe the high street is allowed to be parked on but this is only the case after 5 pm and Tuesday for disabled passes. I am not sure about Sundays that may be disabled passes aswell. people come back to the cars not knowing and face a penalty which was recently published Fifes number 1 fine collection area for parking is Kirkcaldy. The High street looks gloomy and dull in the evenings with a lack of lighting I would love to see it do well but unfortunately in my opinion the people who manage it are unfit for purpose.
