We just finished our third stay with Graeme and Emma at Glenegedale House and as usual it was phenomenal. Whether its your first or 21st visit to the island, this B&B will never fail you. From the amazing welcome, complete with tea/coffee and the most amazing brownies you ever had, to the (what feels like 8 million course) breakfast that is served, the supreme island knowledge of Emma and Graeme or the amazing dinners they have. Staying at Glenegedale is one of the best parts of coming to Islay and I can never wait to come back. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the whole house has a cozy vibe that welcomes you in. Most people come for the whisky but Islay has a wealth of other things to do and stories to tell you. As native islanders, the tales and sites Emma and Graeme tell you about are definitely worth a visit. I feel like they know everyone and all that is going so can point you in the best direction - from special events at distilleries to the best yarn shop. But above all, they both try their best to give you the most amazing experience of this amazing island, no matter what you want to do. The best part of this beautiful house is the food. The dinners served are not only local produce but are absolutely phenomenal. Theres an amazing drink list which is obviously filled with Islay whiskies! I cannot recommend Glenegedale House enough and we find any excuse we can to come back to the island and visit.

Without doubt probably the best guesthouse/hotel we've had the pleasure of staying with. (And we're well travelled!) The hospitality from the hosts Emma and Graeme was just superb, they we're extremely well connected with the island which proved invaluable for exploring all the best places. Oh and the food was to die for! I defy anyone to manage everything that was on offer for breakfast, exceptional. We also dined with them for 3 out of our 4 nights stay, the set 3 course menu was stunning. It would rival any high quality restaurant. The Islay whiskey menu was very welcome and extensive, well why wouldn't you indulge whilst on Islay. Thank you both for a very memorable vacation. Note, do not let the location near to the tiny Islay airport put you off. It's very quiet and had no impact our stay at all.
