My wife and I have stayed at Skerrols House three times (2017, 18, and 22) now and could honestly never imagine staying anywhere else. We have gone to Islay for the rugged scenery and whisky, but we come back again and again to stay at Skerrols. Thomas, his wife, and their team go above and beyond any and all expectations you may have for a 5-star establishment. The home is immaculate, the breakfast is spectacular (esp. the croissants;)), and the camaraderie is incredible. I've not yet found another place in all of my travels that measure up to a fraction of the experience we get when we stay at Skerrols. Oh, minor thing: but, heated bathroom floors inside a bathroom with a spacious shower and calming rain shower head? Yes! We just can't wait to go back. I couldn't possibly give a recommendation commensurate to what Skerrols deserves, but I promise your stay here will enhance your life!

This place should be eligible for at least SIX stars. Thomas and his wife take amazing care of their guests. I spoke one guest who said it was her fourth visit to Skerrols house, yeah this establishment is THAT good Skerrols is actually a beautiful house thats been converted into a quaint little hotel with rooms on the bottom floor and the floor above. They also have a dining room and a living/drawing room where guests can congregate and regale each other with the days happenings. We checked in pretty late, and as there were no restaurants nearby, Thomas gladly made us some sandwiches so we did not go hungry. What a consummate gentleman Breakfast next day was an absolute treat. Mrs. Thomas is an accomplished chef. Do not forget to try her poached eggs, potato Patties, scrambled eggs or the several other delicacies that are there on the menu. They also serve various kinds of fruits, juices, cereals, yogurts etc for breakfast - something for everyone Unfortunately we only spent one night at this fine establishment, but we plan on coming back
