My girlfriend and I arrived here absolutely drenched after a 2 hour walk from Bruichladdich (we're ambitious. And idiots). We received the warmest of welcomes and a guided tasting through their selection - shout out to Nelson, world-class bloke! The four ales are tasty and refreshing yet complex, and the owners do great whisky as well. Thus re-fueled with pints and drams, we set out for our hour-long walk in the rain to Bowmore (again: we're ambitious. And idiots.). EDIT: So apparently I had this review stashed in my account since 2019 and only now noticed I never posted it. Again confirming my own idiocy.

What a great place! Tiny brewery in Islay Square in Bridgend with a warm welcome and lots of knowledge and enthusiasm. There are a few small tables and seats, as well as a bar where you can get tasters, bottles and draft (both cask and keg). Drinks are decent value, and the place has a lovely atmosphere.

Love to see how great people brewing great beers on a beautiful island which is dominated by and renowned for its single malt. However, their product by no means has to hide itself. During my time I have had all three brews (golden ale at a restaurant in Bowmore, the others as a sample in the brewery) so that I decided to take a few bottles home to Germany! The staff on the brewery was very helpful as well!

This is a nifty wee shop (and micro brewery) which is conveniently located in a small shopping outlet in Bridgend, just off the main road into Islay. It stocks a limited range of ales, lagers, stouts and some selected whisky but all local fare and certainly represents a taste of this Scottish island. We popped in today and the service was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable of the stock and kindly offered a brief description of each item, without being too pushy or pressuring a sale. Cheeky tasters were offered and I'd recommend before buying. Gift packs are available as are a few other nic nacs. Parking is available on site (no charge), wheelchair access possible and I would certainly recommend popping in for a visit and chat if passing.
