The Viewmount

We stayed at the Viewmount for three nights, between Christmas and NYE, to break up our journey while traveling from Glencoe area to Skye. Esther, a wonderful, kind and friendly host, did an amazing job renovating this B&B; attention to detail and though put in creating a boutique feel, truly makes the Viewmount an experience to remember. We loved everything, from cosy and stylish interior and amenities, to lovely meals (usually only breakfasts, but dinners can be prepared by Esther upon request). If you appreciate things like nice bedding, good bathroom (with heated floors, freestanding bathtub + good shower, quality toiletries, etc.), homemade meals - you will love the place!

Afternoon tea at The Viewmount comes highly recommended by a party of ladies celebrating a birthday. From the personalised menu, to the finely presented sandwiches and cakes, to the home baked scones made from our hostess' South African family menu, to the attentive service, all set in a beautifully decorated library with a view towards the mountains, all added to a wonderfully, relaxing experience. It made for a very special afternoon, all toasted with a glass of prosecco and teas of our choice. Thank you, Esther.

My stay here was simply stupendous!!! It's a rarity to come across a venture where it's evident that the owner is fulfilling a life long dream - the Viewmount is just such a venture. From my bedroom (I stayed in the exquisite Bell with its panoramic views - see first photo) to its ginormous on suite, to the dining room/library, to the lounge and wine cellar - the whole set up and preparation just oozes attention to detail throughout. Esther is just such an attentive, knowledgeable and thoughtful owner. The breakfast is heavenly and the nightly nibbles and accompanying drinks are loaded with joy. The surrounding area is spectacular - I had the privilege of going for a morning run (sometimes a crawl due to some steep inclines!). I never take a camera or phone but on this occasion I simply could not resist and other photos are from my run. Thank you Esther - it was a privilege to share in your dream!
