Visited an lady 98years old, bed was soiled, would not take the lady to the toilet. They said she was on a toilet chart. This lady is 98 and as a x nurse I cannot see any benefit to doing this except distressing the lady . she told us this was her life out of bed breakfast then taken to lounge, sitting beside people with dementia, she is not a happy lady. This was my second visit to the home, last time staff were poor and did not offer to take the lady to her room. We had to stand for the duration of the visit. One of the care assistant had her break in the patient lounge not good practice. This time she was taken to her room and was disgusted when I saw the bed. Would never put any family members in this home. Elspeth

Wasnt entirely happy with the overall care my Gran received over the year she was resident but most of the care staff all seemed very nice and as long as my Gran seemed happy we put up with it but then in March she developed COVID and never really picked up from then. The Manager of the home allowed the residents to have their second Covid booster only a 1-2 weeks after most of the residents were just getting over their bout of covid. At this time my Gran had a controlled fall while transferring with a nurse and a carer. This resulted in a chipped bone in her shoulder, although this was only discovered when my Uncle took her to Hospital for an x-ray over a month later, she was in agony. After this she was on constant bed rest causing horrific bed sores which although the Home got a special mattress for her she was in extreme discomfort. She rapidly went downhill from this point and died in the middle of June. We were told to let the Manager know the Funeral details as they like to send a representative, this didnt happen. Despite it being Scottish Government Policy.
