This is our 2nd year having Christmas dinner in a box. We will have it again next year. It was easy to do and the food is good quality. There were some changes this year and I've reflected that in the stars. The canapies were large but the fillings were too strong. I like goats cheese but the one used here just wasn't nice or it may have been the walnuts - it drew my cheeks in. The starter as last year and main were great. Starter was chicken liver parfait with brioche and was lovely and the turkey Wellington was delicious. The pudding was another change this year to individual baked alaska, whilst tasty enough they did taste very sugary, I realise that's how meringue is made but sugar taste is normally more subtle. The cheese selection and oaties was perfect and the portions achievable for 4 very generous. This brings me on to the final change from last year yje instructions... they were gobbledegook in places and really need looked at. Last year included a video which backed up very simple put this in now put this in. This year it was put in for 15 min now after 15 min do this then give 15 min leave 10 min and 15 minute into cooking time do x. Which 15 minute is it the first or the last or what, needed to be clearer. Ended up finding the total cooking time and ensuring that was met as well as cutting Wellington in half to ensure fully cooked meaning no bringing to table for presentation. On the whole a very high 8 out of 10 and the issues were relatively minor. Will definately return next Christmas made the lunch very easy to make and was mostly delighted with this.
