        Called out McRoberts to fix a leak coming from the boiler. Engineer didn't drain the system properly and managed to get water into the main circuit board. No heating for almost a week. To be fair they replaced the circuit board and the leak but couldn't get the boiler working again. Thankfully it was still under manufactures warranty and their approved engineer got it up a running like new again. McRoberts still charged me over 300 for breaking my boiler. Expensive lesson, McRoberts are probably good at the simple jobs ! When I received the bill I contacted McRoberts to discuss it. The receptionist advised me to email the company. Not great customer skills under the circumstances. I would have thought they would at least return the call to discuss. To summarise McRoberts took on a job they clearly weren't capable of doing and perhaps they knew would still be under warranty. Perhaps honesty and transparency was lacking in this case and a full refund should have been given. I'm not sure a service was carried out , why would you service a boiler that isn't working??
