As with many of the youth hostels I've stayed in it's often the staff who make the difference. During my stay I couldn't have hoped for better. Friendly, helpful and generous, Nigel and Sue are an asset to the YHA. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the bed was fine. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. The bathroom was clean and the shower was nice and hot. A bargain for 25 (towels extra). Coffee and tea was free (with a suggested donation). They don't currently have a card machine so either book online or bring cash. A welcome place to rest after a wonderful 2 weeks on the Pennine Way
