Lovely little church (kirk) lots of history

Sensational church in a stunning setting. Goes straight into my top 5 UK finds. Superb almost magical setting and views. One of the best redone Victorian ceilings ( barrel vaulting ) I've seen. Fab wee corner sundial outside. And oh that tympanum above the entry door. It's of Sir William de Somerville slaying the Linton Worm in circa 1174. Genuine Norman carving but now severely eroded so GO soon...but read up on line the story of the Linton beastie first. Lampton and even St George ..eat your heart out. When done, if not totally wiped out by it get out your detailed OS map (1;50000) and find/visit the still marked Worm's Hole on the ME side of Linton Hill. Truly a mystical trip! 6 stars...if that's possible!!
