InstaVolt Charging Station

I'd downloaded the InstaVolt app to cover my bases when travelling - although there's only 2 local(ish) sites and they're well within my Honda E's range, so i didn't anticipate using them often. A cold, winter's day and the Rapid Chargers at my destination were occupied - so reduced to 7/22kW options and we didn't have the time to spare. Having headed to Keith on the way home only to find the CPS Rapid Charger playing up it was time to learn how to use the InstaVolt app. First attempt failed at the car (flashing red light of doom, I suspect due to the previous failed attempt) but second attempt was quick & easy. Perfect time to grab a coffee from the Filling Station while we got enough juice to get us home. Chargepoint is easy to find (right on the A96), and we drove straight in, app was nice 'n' easy to use - although it stopped the session but wouldn't close, which is possibly more a network issue. Would definitely use again.

Another good charge at InstaVolt, no faf trying to get it to start, plugged in flashed the InstaVolt RFID card and charging at 50KW, good coffee from the service station and 30 minutes later on my way 26kw up,

Instavolt is the best set of charging stations in Scotland, full stop. Even more importantly it's absolutely essential if you drive a Jaguar I-Pace, because ChargePlaceScotland and eVolt don't work with the I-Pace (a bit liek Esso making diesel). So after visiting Inverness, we found a sum total of ZERO chargers that worked and had to come to Keith to find InstaVolt, which worked almost perfectly - it charges much more quickly than its estimate, and usually takes about 10 seconds from arrival to start of charging. The Keith station wasn't reading cards at the time we visited so we had to download the app, but the good news is that even that is quick and it's a very good easy to use app (unlike, well let's say... ChargePlace Scotland) so we went from 17 miles to 90 miles travel juice in less than 40 minutes, enough to get us home to Aberdeen - where the best charging station in the city is run by Instavolt, who have two stations at Bannatyne Health Spa Centre that are even better than the one at Keith. Time to get one installed in Inverness. It may cost 40p a kWh instead of CPS 34p but it works, it works every time, and it works fast - and that's worth an extra few every day of the week.
