I am full of gratitude for the very remarkable kindness shown and superb care given to my sister . Her previously undetected health problems prior to her arrival at Elmgrove , were very quickly identified and Dr and District nurse called immediately . My family, her only close at hand relatives spoke to me after every visit they made to Elmgrove, with huge relief and delight at the unusually kind and energetic demonstrative care shown by every one of the staff to all residents, even sitting down to talk to people and hold their hands, out of sight of most , but noticed and so appreciated by my family. My sister though suffering from dementia volunteered of her own accord how very kind everyone was to her. My sisters mobility problems were quickly accommodated by moving her to another room : nothing was too much trouble. My sister thereafter had to return to hospital to our dismay, but I am equally dismayed that a carehome that has had such a superbly caring staff giving it such a warm and friendly atmosphere is to be no longer. Genuine kindness is in short supply even in places that are looking after the vulnerable, and to close one that is so obviously abounding in that rare quality seems to me a tragedy for all those who would surely have appreciated such genuine warmth. My heartfelt thanks to Melony Savage- Lowden and her so kind team. Alison Cameron
