Royal Highland Hotel

We were disappointed with this hotel because of the service and the food. When the bill for dinner was presented, we filled in the "charge it to our room section" and the waitress took it. A few minutes later, a man came to our table and told us that we had to open an account with the hotel in order to charge our room! In the morning, we tried to get coffee at the restaurant and were told that we had to have "class" for that, whatever that means! The restaurant manager, a middle aged man in a suit did not makes us feel welcome when we entered the restaurant and our impression was that the staff were afraid of him. Not a relaxed atmosphere at all. Next time, we will stay somewhere else! Walkability: It was right next to the train station.

Rooms are shabby. Peeling paint, worn and dirty carpet, one pillow per bed. No car parking as advertised. Amenities are not as advertised. We booked a stay here because they advertised a car park. In reality, they have six spaces and a bunch of cabbies that glare at you while you try to unload your bags. The front desk sent us a few blocks away to park at a public garage at 9 pounds per day since their 6 spots were full. To top that off, there was no hot water the first day (Im guessing they have an old boiler that runs out). Our tub didnt drain. Our sheets were stained. Book elsewhere.
