Was here recently for an afternoon tea which was very disappointing! Savouries were tasty but lacked the finesse you'd expect from an afternoon tea! The sweets were not as advertised, no Pana cotta, no bavarois, no sfogliatine! No frosting on the carrot cake. Everything very cakey!!complained about the taste of one cake and was told it was fine for the chefs taste! The girls serving were very pleasant. wouldn't recommend it for afternoon tea.

Id take this several centuries old mansion over a faceless chain hotel any time. We had the standard rooms, so yes, a bit aged. But all clean and comfortable. Shower good pressure. The bar/ fireplace room is amazing and cozy. Breakfast from the menu to select was perfect and yummy. If you expect standardised (and boring) chain hotel rooms, dont bother going there. If you want character and a nice mansion just outside Inverness, nestled in a beautiful garden you are right there.

I travel constantly for my job and this is the only hotel Ive reviewed because it is so charming and the staff is so nice its a guaranteed win. Charming boutique hotel with in house restaurant, they are located in a quiet area between Iverness and Loch ness. Good for large events or shorter stays, beautiful grounds and hiking options. They have a nice whisky selection and knowledgeable staff. The staff are exceedingly friendly and better service then some luxury accommodations ive been at.
