Pickering Dental Care are a fantastic dentist. Diane is one of the few dentists I've ever felt very comfortable around. The professionalism of the team is great. Although the receptionist that I've had dealings with on my last visit has all the warmth of a freshly caught salmon. You might be wondering why I'm scoring only 2 stars then? Well I've come to this dental practice for probably 20 years, before it was even Pickering Dental Care. Upon my last visit in November, I was told that as an NHS patient they would no longer be willing to treat me and that as I had a "Job" I would have to go private. (for background I've had a job since I was 18, now 25) So because I was an NHS patient, they no longer wished to treat me. No discussion around if I could afford their prices or even thought that due to the pandemic it would be difficult to find an NHS dentist. Essentially what is described as a "Friendly and Welcoming" dental practice, essentially is quite happy to ditch you because you're on NHS and to do so in the middle of a pandemic without any discussion of costs or personal finances. The fact that I was told I'd have to go private without ever seeing a price list etc. When I tried to have a discussion with the receptionist in question, she rudely proclaimed "It's Diane's practice she can do what she wants" Overall, great dentist but expect to be classed as a 2nd class citizen if you're NHS even after going their for many years.

Ive seen good reviews for this dentist but my experience there was not good at all. Id been going for years but Lucky for me i found New Row practice in Dunfermline are taking people on during covid. Because there i found a dentist that acted like he viewed my teeth as i valued them and not by sterling. I was asked by a dentist at pickering why i was bothered at getting a tooth out that could be saved, as it had a gap next to it anyway. Incredible attitude for a dentist to have. They were quoting my upwards to 1000 for a crown during covid. They put in a temporary filling which half fell out after a couple weeks, they repaired it for it to fall out the next day. By this time i knew i would never go back there. If your struggling with finances get yourself to another local dentist. I got much better dental and moral treatment elsewhere and for free during covid.

I've been going here for a year now and they are the nicest people. Very professional, and while nobody really looks forward to visiting the dentist, these guys make it a very pleasant experience!
