Traquair Arms Hotel

We stopped for a spot of late lunch at the Traquair Arms after visiting a Buddhist monastery a wee drive away, and the food was delicious! This was actually my second time here, the first having left a lasting impression! Food was great, the service was very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and convivial. If I'm passing again I will definitely be sure to stop in! Food & drinks: Food was delicious.

Went for the Easter extravaganza. Qs Qs Qs everywhere. Not enough on for the amount of people there. Very poorly advertised,if I knew the easter egg hunt didn't start until 3pm, I would of waited, plus it didn't state that the maze was closed and that there was no Easter egg hunt for 10-14s. They also ran out of Easter eggs, they seemed to charge a lot of money but not deliver!!! I will definitely not be back for anything they organise, 5 very disappointed children to deal with.

Did not stay in the hotel. 7 of us booked for an evening meal. No complaints with the atmosphere in the restaurant. Main meals were perfect and well presented. 2 of us ordered sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and I would not recommend it. The spounge tasted burnt! Having to cut the top off. Toffee sauce was terrible and an inadequate amount. Prior to ordering, I was warned about it not being the best from a previous customer a few months earlier. As it has not improved, I wouldn't recommend and think the business should re think a change of recipe.
