Beggshill Bothy & Dog Paddock

Ive just returned home after a two night stay at Beggshill Bothy, with 3 rather tired but very happy dogs! The Bothy was exactly what I was looking for. From booking the visit to leaving, communication has been excellent. A welcome email with what to expect at the Bothy and of the local community (and day trips, dog walks, places to eat etc), made the entire visit more relaxing. Steph came over to welcome us when we got there and let us know how to use the dog paddock and let us know if there was anything else we needed just to shout. The kitchen is well equipped and fresh milk and bread was provided which was a lovely touch after a long drive. The dogs were right at home and well provided for with blankets, towels and a raised feeder. My two greyhounds loved the paddock and having the space to let them run was just the icing on the cake. I cant wait to come back for a longer stay soon. Really lovely place to get away from everything! Thanks again to Steph and Ted. From Rachel, Andy, Blaze and Barney.

My dog, Pip and I had a fantastic time at Beggshill Bothy and it was exactly as I had hoped and expected from the informative descriptions on their site. The bothy was well appointed, clean and contained everything that a human and their dog would need. Pip especially loved the high level feeding and drinking station which was great to see. There was a little care package on arrival which was a nice touch and Steph was a fabulous host - keeping me advised and caring enough to give space where appropriate. Pip loved the paddock for her exercise in the morning and before bed - she found a large ball which became her must use toy for the week we were staying. Again, this was an excellent example of how the bothy caters for dogs and their owners. Finally, the welcome email included an app like programme that provided all the necessary information regarding the bothy, what to do and where to go to eat, drink and relax. I felt like I knew the bothy well before I even arrived. The one thing which could be better was the water pressure for the shower, but with everything above, it was really a minor issue.
