Lovely quiet holiday park located within Haughton Park on the banks of the river Don. As you drive in youll see the old narrow gauge railway platform on the right which I remember fondly as a kid that took you into Alford. I know this is under refurbishment so hope they reinstate this lovely railway. On the opposite side is a small nature reserve and some lovely woodland walks. When you get to the bottom of the access road youll see a large play park on the right and Haughton House straight ahead where the reception and shop is in. Staff were very welcoming on arrival and the shop is well stocked with camping and caravan essentials as well as toys, snacks, food and drink. We were shown the map and chose our pitch which was 109, just a stones throw from the toilet block. The site is looking tired in places but its under new management so cant wait to see how they get on over the next few years. Pitches are a good size with some bigger than others so worth asking if you need a lot of space. In general though every pitch is more than fine for a van and awning. We had a small dog with us and although she had to be on the lead in the park, she could get off her lead along the river walks opposite our pitch or through the woodland walks on the other side. Both just a few mins walk. The toilet and shower block is dated but clean and warm. There are two shower blocks but one was closed when we went. Showers are powerful and hot though. Nice mix of pitches available for all types from tents off grid or with hookups to pitches with water and electric. Its a fantastic location with a walk into Alford taking 15mins at a slow donder and woodland trails and river walks right at the site. 4g signal is decent too. We had a very peaceful stay and look forward to see all the improvements the management have planned. We will definitely be back.

Made a booking close to the end of 2022 season. Unfortunately had to cancel and gave plenty of notice. At best I had hoped for the 20 deposit to be refunded. At worst defer the payment to the next season. Neither of these options were permissible due to 'company policy' A discretionary decision was not an option. There are plenty other sites to choose from in the area.
